The Project:
Working with a coalition of U.S. electric companies, and in coordination with first responders, Foss supported recovery efforts in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. Foss delivered up to 600 utility trucks to assist in restoring power, housed first responders in three accommodation vessels or “floating hotels”, and produced and distributed thousands of meals to island residents.
Services Provided:
- Project Management & Logistics
- Ocean Towing
Highlights:
- Foss supported 729 first responders, including workers from the U.S. Department of Defense, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and AmeriCorps.
- “Floating hotels” housed hundreds of workers, and included homemade meals, sleeping quarters, and a home-base after long shifts.
- The ocean-going tugs Lauren Foss and Corbin Foss stood alongside the accommodation vessels to provide additional support.
- Foss delivered bucket trucks, line trucks, pickups, aerial lifts, CAT skid-steer loaders, digger derricks, and pull trailers, and also three barge loads of water.
