The Project:
Provided customer Waller Marine, Inc., turn-key transportation of GE turbines, generators and balance of plant components for two PDVSA 171 MW power generation barges being constructed at Signal’s International’s Orange, TX shipyard. A third set of power generation equipment was transported to a Houston, TX warehouse for future use. Foss also provided all services required to move the componentsfrom various inland warehouses on the US East Coast to the two US Gulf destinations.

Highlights:
- Transported three gas turbines (171 metric tons each) and two generators (235 metric tons each) in below deck stowage on the multi-deck RO/RO barge American Trader
- Consolidated and transported an additional 3,700 rev tons of breakbulk balance of plant components, many of which were oversized
- Provided trucking, heavy-haul transport at load and discharge ports, terminal services including container stuffing and cargo preparation, load planning, marine engineering and marine transportation services
- Sailed over 5,500 nautical miles in two separate voyages and met fast track schedule demands
