CONNIE RIDING WELL
Iv’e read and heard lots of horror stories about the Straights of Magellan. Is there an escort tug? Is it the Captain Latham from Palatka FL. on the St johns River? I was on the USS America in 69/70 around the world cruise but we took the Drake passage around the Horn. I can follow you when your IMO or MMSI is on with marine traffic.com Can’t afford the sat tracking.
Yes, there is one or two escort tugs. Yes, the Captain Latham is from Palatka, Florida.
A suggestion for John H. Thompson
Since we are unable to track convoy with Marine Traffic, with the coordinates provided here, you may go to Goggle Earth and in the bottom right side of the screen you can navigate through the channels with an ETA Punta Arenas 11/01/2014.
Hope everything is going good. Do you have a date of when you think she will be in Brownsville? Or do we have to wait till you get her closer? We are planning on having a reunion for the ships assoc. in Brownsville. Hope I can get the video or pictures of you documenting her trip for the ships Library? Thanks, Leslie
Yes, it is still too early to pinpoint an arrival date until after we start up the coast of Brazil. As for a video or pictures documenting her trip, we do have pictures on the blog under Gallery clear down at the bottom.

Best guess right now would be the first week in January.
I was wondering about the two Chilean Channel Pilots who are going to guide the Ex USS Constellation through the channels are on board the “Connie” or on board the “Corbin Foss”.
The pilots are on the tug.
Looking forward to your arrival in Brownsville!
